1. Where do you get your recipes from?
All the recipes, and all content on our website for that matter, are completely generated by you, the users. The more users there are, the more recipes there are on the site.
2. How much does it cost?
It’s completely free! The only investment you put in is your time…your time to search and post and share recipes with anyone you know who loves food and wine.
3. How do I use the site?
Anyone can search for recipes and wine and lifestyle reviews on our site. But if you want the full functionality to post, rate, review, and share recipes, you’ll need to create a username and password just like any other website. After doing this, you’ll be able to search for users and friends with similar cooking and drinking tastes to your own. You can then add this person to your network of friends and chefs, inviting them into your virtual kitchen to check out other recipes and suggestions. You’ll also be able to email and text message recipes and ingredients as well as shopping lists directly from your homepage. You can write on each other’s refrigerators and chalkboards, leaving ideas and notes to share with friends and family.
4. Do you have any affiliations with TV shows, magazines, or cookbooks?
No.
5. Does anything like this exist right now?
Not even close!
6. How is your website different from other culinary websites?
Some are honestly quite good in their own right, with some good content. Many people are often intimidated by sites like these though, thinking that their recipes are impossible to create. There are so many advantages to our site: One of the beauties is that you can create a network of friends and chefs that match your own skill set. You can add these people to your kitchen and search and start trying new recipes that you know you can perform. Secondly, our site will feature an extensive wine database with ratings and reviews by again, you the users, and not some stuffy “wine snob.” Also, our site offers sections on Tips and How To’s to plan for different events; a Resources section to search and post jobs in the food and beverage industry; Definitions and Conversion charts; a Lifestyle section to post, rate and review restaurants, bars, clubs, hotels; and so much more. No other website ties the entire food and beverage industry together in such a dynamic, creative, and user-friendly environment! We really hope you are excited to use these features as much as we are!
7. What if I don’t like to cook?
No problem! You can still search, post, rate, and review wines, drinks, restaurants, clubs, kitchen appliances and tools, and even cook books, culinary shows, and magazines.
8. What about desserts, cheeses, coffees, teas, and chocolates?
Absolutely! In the Recipes and Menus section, there will be extensive databases for all types of food broken down by each and every category imaginable. If you don't see something you like, add it on your own and it's there.
9. What are the “Green Issues"?
We at Plumpepper believe in doing everything and anything we can to protect and conserve our environment and the air that nurtures us. This is essential if we are to continue to grow the finest vegetables, fruits, spices, and more that will sustain us hopefully for centuries to come. This responsibility lies with us alone. This “Green” section is a personal blog section for anyone to post ideas on how to better this world.
10. Who can access my information?
As a culinary social network site, we feel it's important to be able to search for and view and try as many different recipes as possible. For this reason, your virtual kitchen and cookbook are visible to anyone using the site. If you desire more privacy, however, just change your privacy settings to make your kitchen and cookbook visible only to your friends.
